Arrest after cannabis factory raided by Surrey Police in Camberley

Police have made an arrest after a cannabis factory was discovered in a town in Surrey Heath. Officers raided a building in the area this week.

Surrey Police highlighted the discovery of the cannabis factory in Camberley and an arrest followed a combined effort between multiple Surrey policing teams. Surrey Police’s Specialist Neighbourhood Team and the Neighbourhood Policing Teams teamed up to tackle the issue, with the force’s spokesperson describing it as a “fantastic joint effort”.

The cannabis factory was uncovered by police on Frimley Road in Camberley on Tuesday morning (January 7) following reports of a burglary. Officers visited the house to attend the burglary reports, and upon entering the property they identified “a large number of cannabis plants”.

A police spokesperson said: “A person has been arrested in connection with this and a full investigation will follow. Closing down cannabis factories reduces criminality and anti-social behaviour across our borough.”

The man arrested was a 64-year-old who has now been released on bail. His arrest was made on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B substances.

If you witness suspicious anti-social behaviour, you should contact Surrey Police immediately. Officers can be contacted in many ways: via Webchat on their website; using the police online reporting tool; by dialling 999 for an immediate response; by dialling 101 for a non-immediate response; alternatively you can anonymously call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
