A Birmingham man has been charged over a number of sexual assaults on children. Stephen Jeffries was remanded into custody after appearing in Birmingham Magistrates’ Court last month.
The 34-year-old has been charged with assaulting a child under 13 by penetration, two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence.
The alleged offences occurred at an address in Birmingham on Sunday, December 8. The defendant will next appear in front of a judge at Birmingham Crown Court in March.

Police said in a statement: “A 34-year-old man has appeared at Birmingham Crown Court today (January 13) in connection with a number of sexual assaults on children.
“Stephen Jeffries, from Birmingham, was charged and appeared before Magistrates on December 14 with assaulting a child under 13 by penetration, two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence.
“The alleged offences occurred on December 8 at an address in Birmingham. He has been remanded to appear again in March at Birmingham Crown Court.”
