A body of a man has been found in floodwater in a North Yorkshire village.
North Yorkshire Police are appealing to the public for help in identifying the body of a man found in floodwater near Intake Lane in Beal. The man was found at the site near Eggborough and Knottingley on Monday, January 6.
The man is described as white, in his early 50s to 60s, with light brown short hair and stubble. He was wearing brown walking boots, blue denim jeans with a brown belt and a multicoloured knitted jumper similar to the one pictured with a zip and hood. It is also possible that he wore a dark green waterproof coat.
It is believed that he may have entered the water within the last 24 to 48 hours. A police spokesman said: “Earlier today, the body of a man was recovered from an area of flooding near Intake Lane in Beal, close to Eggborough and Knottingley.

“Despite extensive enquiries, including with our colleagues in Humberside and West Yorkshire Police, we have been unable to identify him. He was found without any identification or personal belongings.
“We believe he may have entered the water within the last 24 to 48 hours.
“Does this description match someone you know who could be missing? Do you have CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage from the area, or any information that could help us piece together what happened?”
