Building on Sea View Street ‘pelted by rocks’ in overnight incident

Police are appealing for information after a property on Sea View Street in Cleethorpes was “pelted with rocks” in a vandalism incident overnight.

CCTV footage shows two people on a moped driving up to the vacant commercial property, situated at the junction with Cambridge Street, before driving off, at around 12.30am this morning.

A second clip taken seconds later shows them returning to the scene, before one of the people gets off the moped, picks something up from the ground and throws it towards the windows.

A member of staff at the estate agents’ next door told Grimsby Live that staff arrived at work this morning to find the windows smashed and rocks left on the ground below.

She said: “My boss owns both buildings, and CCTV footage shows two people on a moped throwing rocks at the windows.

“It’s scary. In this office it’s just three girls who work here, and we do tend to lock the door when it starts getting dark. So to come to work and see this, it just makes you feel like anything could happen.”
