A burglar seen wearing a “big coat” left a property empty handed after being caught by its owners.
Police are appealing for information following the burglary at a house in Rydale Court, Liversedge, in the early hours of December 27. West Yorkshire Police said it is reported the burglary took place just before 2.40am.
The homeowners were woken by their house alarm and found the thieves had broken in and then left the property empty handed. The force said enquiries suggest one of the suspects were stood in the driveway by the victim’s car at 3.01am, wearing what was described as “a big coat”.
A spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a house in Liversedge. The Kirklees District crime team would like to speak to anyone who has information or CCTV which could assist their investigation into a burglary at a house on Rydale Court in Liversedge in the early hours of Thursday December 27th.
“It took place at just before 2.40am after householders were woken by their house alarm. They found thieves had broken into and then left the property empty handed.
“Enquiries have suggested one of the suspects was stood in the driveway by the victim’s car at 3.01am and wearing what was described as ‘ a big coat’.”
