A busy road in Cambridge will be closed for six weeks from Monday, January 13. Coldhams Lane will be closed between the junctions of Nuttings Road and Kings Meadow.
The road closure will start on January 13 and will end on Sunday, February 23. This closure is to allow new cable to be laid in previously installed ducting.
A diversion will be in place for traffic travelling in both the westbound and eastbound directions. The westbound diversion will be in place via High Street, Teversham Drift, Cherry Hinton Road, Airport Way, Newmarket Road and Barnwell Road and the eastbound diversion is the same but travelling in the opposite direction.
UK Power Networks said the work should not impact the electricity supply in the area and access to properties and businesses will be maintained at all times. The roadworks have been planned to minimise the impact on the area.
A spokesperson for UK Power Networks said: “Road closure between the junctions of Nuttings Road and Kings Meadow. New cable being laid in previously installed ducting.”
