‘Class A drugs worth £15k’ thrown from car onto railway line during police pursuit in Hull

Packages containing “class A drugs worth an estimated £15,000” were “thrown onto railway lines” in Hull during a police pursuit.

Eagle-eyed officers from Humberside Police’s Kinetic Roads Crime Team spotted a vehicle suspected to be connected to criminality on the A63 Clive Sullivan Way on Tuesday (January 14). They tried to intercept it but the driver of the vehicle reportedly failed to stop.

Police followed the driver off Rawling Way before attempting to stop the vehicle once again. Trying to evade officers, the driver is then alleged to have “deliberately driven into the police vehicle, causing damage”. Thankfully, no officers were injured.

The pursuit then continued in the direction of Argyle Street where officers spotted “what they believed to be two packages being thrown out of the window onto the railway lines below”.

The vehicle was eventually stopped nearby and a 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, failing to stop, dangerous driving, and criminal damage.

The passenger, a 34-year-old woman, was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

With assistance from Network Rail, police were able to retrieve the two packages they saw being thrown onto the train tracks, which were “discovered to be class A drugs worth an estimated £15,000”.
