Clydebank pensioner charged after ‘sexual assault’ of girl, 15, at bus stop

A pensioner has been arrested and charged following inquiries into an alleged sexual assault in Clydebank.

The incident happened at around 9pm on Saturday December 7, at a bus stop on Faifley Road, near the junctions with Langfaulds Crescent and Langside Street in Clydebank.

At the time, Police Scotland issued an appeal in a bid to trace the suspect after a teenage girl, 15, was allegedly attacked.

Following an investigation, officers have now arrested and charged a 67-year-old man. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A 67-year-old man has been arrested and charged following inquiries into a sexual assault in Clydebank.

“The incident happened around 9pm on Saturday, 7 December, 2024, at a bus stop on Faifley Road, near the junctions with Langfaulds Crescent and Langside Street.

“The man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.”
