Police have launched an investigation after collection box was stolen from a McDonald’s restaurant.
The box was reportedly taken by a man who left the McDonalds on Ackhurst Park Industrial Estate, Chorley, at around 1.25am on December 2. Lancashire Constabulary has today (January 6) released a CCTV picture of a man they want to as part of their enquires.
Officers are asking anyone who recognises the man or with information about the offence to come forward.
In a statement, a force spokesperson said: “Do you recognise this man? We’d like to speak to him in connection with a report of a theft.
“We received a report of a theft at McDonalds, Ackhurst Park Industrial Estate, Chorley on Monday 2nd December where it was reported a man had left the restaurant with a collection box contain approximately £100. The incident is believed to have occurred at around 1:25pm. We appreciate this happened some time ago, and whilst we have been making enquiries since that date, we are now asking for your help.
“We know this image isn’t of the highest quality, but if you recognise this man, witnessed the incident, or have any information that could help us in our investigation, please call 101 quoting log 643 of 2nd December 2024.”
