Police were called to a well known Surrey beauty spot after reports of a “concern for safety” were made. A woman was found in a car park at Westhumble Street in Dorking on Tuesday night.
Paramedics were also called to assist, who then took the woman to a nearby hospital as a precaution. Eye witnesses reported a police presence at the time of the incident with a number of police vans on the scene.
A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: “We were called to reports of a concern for safety on Westhumble Street, Dorking, at around 9.50pm on Tuesday evening (7 January). Officers attended the scene and located a woman inside a car park, who was taken to hospital as a precaution.”
The car park is close to the Dorking and Westhumble train station, and is a popular location for walkers exploring Box Hill and Stepping Stones pub just outside of Dorking town centre. The walking spot features the hill, and routes across the River Mole via bridge and stepping stones.
On Wednesday, January 8, Surrey Police urged drivers not to travel in icy or snowy conditions. The Met Office have put a yellow weather warning in place with snow forecast across the county, which will last just before midnight.
