A cyclist has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being struck by a car driver who failed to stop. The hit-and-run crash happened in Brandwood Park Road, on the border of Kings Heath and Kings Norton, at around 9.25pm last night, January 3.
Police said a silver BMW failed to stop at the scene and that it was understood to have been “severely damaged” in the collision. The cyclist, aged in his 20s, was rushed to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was seriously injured when they were hit by a car yesterday evening. The collision happened in Brandwood Park Road at around 9.25pm yesterday (3 January) and the car involved, a silver BMW, failed to stop at the scene.

“The cyclist, in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition. The vehicle is believed to have been severely damaged in the collision, and we are appealing for anyone with information on its whereabouts to come forward.
“We would also urge the driver to do the right thing and get in touch with officers immediately. We remain at the scene and any witnesses or people with dashcam footage are urged to get in touch quoting log 4855 of January 3.”
