Drug-dealer Luciano Johnson-Ford ran across busy Staffordshire roads – after being ‘boxed in’ by cops. The 20-year-old had been spotted pulling up in his Mercedes and passing a snap-seal bag to a man.
Watching officers with Staffordshire Police’s major and organised crime team caught up with the individual and found cocaine he’d bought for £50. Johnson-Ford’s car was then ‘boxed in’ by officers on the busy Watling Street in Cannock.
The defendant leapt out and ran across a number of busy roads in a desperate bid to escape. However he was caught and arrested – while cops found more than 80 deals of Class A drugs and £1,170 in cash inside the Mercedes.
On top of that, it turned out Johnson-Ford didn’t have a licence either. He also revealed to officers that he had a hidden lock-knife on him before a search.
Now the defendant has appeared at Stafford Crown Court – where he’s avoided an immediate jail term. Johnson-Ford, of Wolverhampton, admitted possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (cocaine), possession of a knife in a public place, possession of criminal property, and driving without a licence or insurance. He was handed a two-year prison term, suspended for two years. He must also carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and pay £1,000 in costs.
