A 63-year-old Chesterfield man has been jailed for his part in the sexual exploitation of a child that was uncovered by Merseyside police.
Timothy Peach exchanged messages with the convicted paedophile Vicki Bevan, in which they shared incident images of a child aged 6-9, as well as conversations about the sexual exploitation of a child.
The pair had met in 2021 on an online dating site, which led to messages about exploiting underage children. This was then uncovered by Merseyside police in 2022, at which point they alerted Derbyshire police to Peach’s involvement.
Peach was then arrested, and a search of his home in Hardwick Lane, Ashover, was conducted by Derbyshire police. Several electronic devices were seized, which unveiled indecent images of a child on two of the devices, as well as sexually explicit chats about the abuse and exploitation of a child.
Peach was then summoned to Chesterfield Magistrates Court on August 1, 2024, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of making indecent images of a child aged 6-9 and one count of facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child under 13. Peach then appeared at Liverpool Crown court on November 28, 2024, to receive a jail term of two years and eight months.
PC Samantha Bramley said: “This case illustrates how good police work goes beyond geographical borders, and traditional methods, to ensure that the most dangerous and serious crimes are detected.
“Peach played a part in the abhorrent sexual abuse and exploitation of an innocent child, and I would like to thank both Merseyside Police who originally detected and referred the case to us and the Digital Forensics unit within Derbyshire Constabulary who painstakingly examined and extracted data from Peach’s devices to recover the evidence that led to his conviction.”
Vicki Bevan, Napier Street, St Helens, was sentenced alongside two other men in 2022 to life imprisonment for numerous charges in her part in the child sexual exploitation.
