Driver handed a whopping 18 points after forgetting his own name at the roadside

A motorist was handed a whopping 18 points at the roadside after being pulled over by police. Officers found a string of issues after they stopped the motorist in the Midlands.

He ended up having his car seized and faces being disqualified from driving. Staffordshire Police officers said the driver of the Toyota Yaris could not remember their name when initially pulled over.

Officers discovered the man had no license, no insurance and his tyres were below the legal tread limit of 1.6mm, among other offences. Police quipped that while the driver forgot his name, he’ll remember the 18 penalty points that were handed out.

In the UK, motorists who build up 12 or more penalty points on their license face disqualification from driving. Officers also included the hashtag seized in the X post and shared a photo of a worn out tyre.

StaffsRCT said on X/Twitter: “The driver of this Toyota couldn’t initially remember his name when we stopped him @EStaffsPolice. However we got to the bottom of that and he will remember the 18 points that he earned today.

“No licence, no insurance, mobile phone and tyre below 1.6mm. #PG9 #seized.”
