Driver hurt as crash between two cars and truck shuts North Staffordshire road

Emergency services shut a North Staffordshire road after a smash between two cars and a truck. One man is today in hospital following the morning collision on the outskirts of Tean.

As reported by StokeonTrentLive the crash resulted in Uttoxeter Road being shut between High Street and Heath House Lane. Police and paramedics were sent to the scene at around 7.40am where they found a collision between a Volvo, a Volkswagen Golf, and a truck.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a collision involving two cars and a lorry on Uttoxeter Road, Lower Tean. One ambulance attended and assessed the driver of one car who presented with injuries. He was given treatment at the scene before being taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital as a precaution. No one else was injured.”

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Officers closed the road while paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service checked over those inside the vehicles. Highways also attended. Recovery was arranged.”
