DWP Cold Weather Payments triggered in 24 areas of Lancashire – full list

Cold Weather Payments will be paid out to 24 postcode areas of Lancashire.

The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed that temperatures across a number of borough were cold enough during the icy blast at the start of 2025 that those who qualify will now receive the cash. Payments for thousands of people in the region were triggered on Saturday (January 12) with more areas then triggered on Sunday (January 13).

They see qualifying households receive £25 when temperatures falls below 0C for a period of seven consecutive days. To qualify for the money you need to be in recept of certain benefits including Pension Credit, Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Universal Credit and Support for Mortgage Interest.

In total more than 600 postcodes across England, Wales and Northern Ireland have now been triggered since January 2. People in Scotland do not qualify for Cold Weather Payments.

The money is paid to the most vulnerable people to help heat their homes during periods of extreme cold. The money is paid into bank accounts automatically and usually appears within 14 days of each seven-day period of very cold weather.

Below is the full list of postcodes and areas across Lancashire where the payment will be received.
