Daring Edinburgh locals were spotted ice skating on a frozen pond at the weekend.
With the city reaching temperatures as low as -7C, some residents made the most of the chilly conditions and headed to Inverleith Pond as it had completely iced over.
Brave skaters took to the pond, which is only a few feet deep, along with others who just wanted to glide along the ice.
However some residents were worried about the safety of the skaters after the video was posted to TikTok.
One person said: “My gran always warned me when she was a kid someone went through the frozen pond ice, didn’t return and it gave me the absolute fear.”
Another comment reads: “We used to live there and one day some school kids came from the school and tried to skate on it and one fell in. I’ve never seen anyone get out of water so fast.”
“One person skating and everyone else shuffling about looking at their feet,” another comment says.
Forecasters predicted Baltic conditions over the course of last week with Edinburgh to see lows of -6C and -7C on Wednesday and Thursday night, January 8 and 9.
