Two people were injured after being bitten by a dog at a home in Plymouth. Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the scene in the Ernsettle area at around 9.20am on Monday (January 13).
A man suffered a serious, but not life-threatening or life-changing injury, before being taken to hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, a woman suffered minor injuries and was treated by paramedics.
Police have confirmed that the dog was taken to vets. It was then euthanised at the owner’s request.
Police said: “Police were called to a report of a family dog biting two people inside an address at around 9.20am on Monday 13 January. A man sustained a serious, but not life-threatening or life-changing injury, and a woman suffered minor injuries.
“Both received initial treatment at the address by the ambulance service, with the man being taken to hospital by police for further treatment to his injuries. The incident happened at a property in the Ernesettle area of Plymouth.
“Officers attended the scene. A dog was disclaimed to police and taken to vets where it was sadly euthanised at the owner’s request.”
