Gardai in Galway are on the hunt for a trio of men captured on CCTV over Christmas during a night-time incident in the county.
The bizarre incident occurred shortly after 7pm on Sunday 8 December 2024 when three men emerged from a car in a quiet village and stole an anvil that was placed in the front garden of a home in the area.
But, the heist was captured on camera and the homeowner was able to share details of the three men and the vehicle in which they made good their escape.
The homeowner claims the incident is not the first to occur at the home. They post says this was the second such incident as they described the car involved in this latest theft as of a saloon type, and possibly towing a two-wheeled trailer.
A post shared to Galway Garda Checkpoints and Speed Cameras explained: “On the 8th of December at approximately 7.08pm a car pulled up outside of a house in Monivea. Three people emerged from the car and stole a red anvil from the garden.
“This is the second time this house has had its ornaments stolen from its garden. The car is a saloon type and is towing a two wheel car trailer.
“It is possible that more houses have been robbed during this period. If anyone has any CCTV or dash cam footage with this car. Pleases pass it onto the Monivea Gardai.”
