Police have taped off Argyle Street after a man and woman were found injured inside a property following an alleged disturbance.
Emergency services were made aware of an incident at around 1.10am on Tuesday. The busy city centre road has been closed since, between University Avenue and Church Street.
The man and woman have been rushed to hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries remain unknown at this stage.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and a police presence remains at the scene on Tuesday morning, January 7.
Motorists have been urged to “use an alternative route”.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Argyle Street is closed between University Avenue and Church Street, after a report of a man and woman injured following a disturbance within a property around 1.10am on Tuesday, 7 January, 2025.
“They have been taken to hospital and a man has been arrested in connection. Officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries.”
