A Glasgow city centre street has been taped off as police investigate a report of a “disturbance” and “possible serious assault”.
Officers descended on Jamaica Street, in the Four Corners area, after receiving a call about an incident at around 3.30am on Wednesday, January 8.
Police are still in attendance but have found no trace of anyone involved. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
The road remains closed, however, business are still operating and access can be gained as standard. Road access to Midland Street at Jamaica Street remains open.
Sergeant David McIntosh said: “We’d like to thank the public for their patience and understanding as officers carry out their work in the area.
“Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious on Jamaica Street in the early hours of this morning, or has any information on the incident, should call police on 101, quoting incident 0291 of 8 January. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
