There are growing concerns for the welfare of a man who vanished in Glasgow five days ago.
Ian McAlpine, 49, was last seen in the Balornock Road area of Springburn at around 9pm on Tuesday, January 9. Officers from Police Scotland are appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing Ian.
He is described as white, Scottish, 5ft6 in height, of a thin build and has short grey/white hair. He was wearing a black north face puffer jacket, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.
Sergeant Jibran Yousaf, Maryhill Police Station, said: “Ian tends to frequent Glasgow City Centre, especially the streets around Central Station. We have been liaising with our colleagues in the city centre and have been reviewing CCTV footage there and locally but so far there has been no trace of him.
“We don’t believe he has money or a mobile phone with him. That and the fact he has not been seen for five days is concerning for us. If you have seen Ian, or have any information that may help trace him, then please call police. Information can be passed to officers via 101. Please quote incident number 3355 of Tuesday, January 7 2025 when calling.”
