A city centre venue has closed with immediate effect. Pig & Pitchfork moved into the old Klay Pizzeria – in the Hanley Cultural Quarter – in 2023.
It comes after The Gin Rummy Bar & Kitchen relocated into the unit from the opposite side of the road. But the venue has now shut for good this week.
It boasted a prime position opposite The Regent Theatre. The Gin Rummy Bar & Kitchen has had a presence in Hanley since September 2017.
In a social media message to diners, the Piccadilly venue stated: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of the Pig & Pitchfork. After seven years of being part of the Piccadilly community, serving our valued customers, we have made the difficult decision to cease operations.
“This decision was not made lightly and we deeply appreciate the support and loyalty you have shown us throughout our journey. Your trust in us has meant the world and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve you.
“Despite our best efforts, changes in the market and in the economy have made it challenging to continue. If you are booked in for Bottomless Brunch or have vouchers please get in touch.
“Thank you for being part of our story. While this chapter is coming to an end, the memories and connections we’ve made will last a lifetime. With heartfelt gratitude, thank you for your support.”
