Heartbreaking tributes to Plymouth woman ‘loved beyond words’

Emotional tributes have been paid after the body of a young woman was found in Plymouth yesterday (Tuesday, January 7). Devon and Cornwall Police were searching for 24-year-old Lacey Lake when they discovered a body in Tamerton Foliot.

Officers were called to Linton Close at around 1.20pm but the woman tragically died at the scene. Although police said formal identification is yet to take place, Lacey’s family were informed of the development.

A desperate appeal was launched after she was reported missing from the Stonehouse area of Plymouth. She was last seen getting into a grey Mercedes vehicle at around 6pm last Friday (January 3).

A tribute on Facebook thanked people for their support. It said that Lacey was “loved beyond words”.

Sara French said in the post: “It is with a broken heart I need to inform my friends and family Lacey Lake has sadly passed away and her body was found yesterday. Thank you to everyone for the kind words and I know this is a shock to everyone but can people please respect our family right now as we have a lot of question and we are all heartbroken and our privacy needs to be respected and we need to get her back home.

“Lacey you was loved beyond words and I don’t no how we are ever going to get past this. I just hope your at peace with your mum. Love you always our mini xxxx.”

Jay Harris added: “The best way to describe Lacey is she’s the moon, she’s the biggest and brightest thing you can see in the darkness, even in her own darkness she shines, she loves deeply, cares immensely and protects with her whole being. I just wish we could of protected you.

“You will always be such a big part of my life, laughs, the cries and especially the highs, you’re one of a kind and always will be. Forever be something so great to this world. You’re more than a friend or a best friend you’re family, day or night you’d be there, despite your phone ALWAYS being on do not disturb.

“Your laughter, your advice, your love and your passion will always live on, your empathy for others is something so unexplainable, to meet you when i did was a God send. You will forever and always live on in me and so many people, you will never be forgotten and in the next life I’ll step in with my hand out searching for you. Until we meet again, in this life and next I’ll always love you Lace.”
