A woman has been found dead at a home in Walton, after eyewitnesses reported a heavy police presence on New Year’s Eve. Surrey Police were called to the house in Rodney Road, on Tuesday, December 31 at 1.19pm.
Paramedics confirmed the “sudden death” of the woman in her 40s, who remains unnamed. The death is not being treated as suspicious, and no arrests have been made.
Currently the cause of death has not been confirmed by police, who continue to investigate. The woman’s next of kin have been informed.
Those living nearby reported to SurreyLive that there was a heavy police presence in the road from Tuesday, December 31, with officers on the scene for the next four days. One eye witness, who did not want to be named, said police were guarding the house 24-hours a day with a car on the driveway.
Officers remained on the scene until January 4, with three forensics vans spotted. Flowers have been laid at the front of the property.
A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: “Officers were called to Rodney Road in Walton-on-Thames at 1.19pm on Tuesday, 31 December following report of a sudden death at a residential property. A woman in her 40s was sadly declared dead by paramedics at the scene. Her next of kin has been informed.
“Enquiries are ongoing to determine the cause of death, but it is not being treated as suspicious and no arrests have been made in connection with her death.”
