Two people have been shot in East London. Officers raced to Berger Road yesterday (Saturday, January 11) to reports of a shooting and found the first man, who’d been shot in the leg.
A short while later officers were called to a second incident, in which another had been shot in the leg, and another still, stabbed.
The Met clarified a Section 60 is not in place, but a scene is in place on Berger Road. Anyone with information or footage is requested to contact Police on 101 referencing CAD 6958/11JAN
A Met Police spokesperson said: “On Saturday, January 11, Police received several calls in relation to a firearms discharge in the Homerton area.
“Police located the first victim with a gunshot wound to the leg and was treated by colleagues from HEMS before taken to an East London hospital.
“Police then received a further call in relation to a separate firearms incident whereby one male was shot in the leg and one was stabbed. All victims at this stage have had their injuries declared as not life threatening.
“A scene currently remains in place along Berger Road impacting access to Homerton BR Station which has subsequently had to be closed overnight and will impact service this morning. At this time, a section 60 has not been implemented.
“Officers from the Mets Trident command are leading on this investigation supported by CE ERPT and locals investigations team. Anyone with information or footage is requested to contact Police on 101 referencing CAD 6958/11JAN.”
