Motorists are facing one-hour delays after a multi-vehicle crash on the M6 northbound. The collision happened between J6, for Aston Expressway, and J7 for Great Barr earlier this evening (January 10).
Two lanes are currently closed. Emergency services have responded to the incident and a recovery truck is on the way to the scene.
There is around four miles of congestion from J5. A spokesperson for National Highways West Midlands said: “Lanes one and two of four are closed following a multiple-vehicle collision.

“Emergency services and traffic officers are working at the scene with recovery arranged and en-route. Systems are showing delays of up to 60 minutes on the approach.”
National Highways also wrote on social media platform X: “Lanes closed M6 northbound, between J6 for Aston Expressway, and J7 for Great Barr. Two lanes (of four) now closed for recovery of the vehicles from an earlier collision. Four miles of congestion from J5.”
