A well-known pub just a stone’s throw away from a busy Derby estate is looking for new operators one year after it last opened its doors. Customers were told that the Mundy Arms in Ashbourne Road, Mackworth, would be closing following an announcement from the former licensee back in January 2024.
The building dates back to the 1500s and catches the eye of motorists nearly half a millennium later. The pub has a classic interior that you would expect to find at a rural watering hole, as well as a large kitchen and south-facing beer garden.
A spokesperson for BB&J Derby, the estate agent managing the leasehold of the property, said: “The property comprises the ground floor of the former Mundy Arms country pub, an attractive 16th-century tavern of solid brick construction beneath a pitched slate roof.
“Internally, the property provides a distinct dining area with an attractive fully functioning bar, further dining/events room accommodation, a fully fitted commercial kitchen with two walk-in freezers along with internal storage and washroom facilities. The property also benefits from gents, ladies and disabled WC facilities along with two customer entrances.
“Externally the property includes access to a beer garden at the rear, with a plethora of onsite customer parking available.” The pub is available with a guide price of £32,500 per annum. You can take a sneak peek at the property’s interior in our photo gallery below:
