Lane closures warning amid inspection of Coventry bridge

Motorists are being warned of lane closures as an inspection is to be undertaken at a bridge in Coventry. The works are set to take place tomorrow (January 15).

As a result of the bridge inspection on Terry Road there will be lane closures throughout the day. Coventry City Council roadworks team have taken to social media platforms to apologise in advance.

A post on X reads: “Sorry for any inconvenience caused.” The update comes after the team carried out resurfacing works on Woodcraft Close.

Other roadworks across the city in the coming weeks include:

• Oldfield Road (from no.106 to Maudsley Road) – road closure from 7.30am to 4pm until Friday, January 24, for footway reconstruction
• Wellesbourne Road (Alderminster Road junction to no.32) – road closure from 7.30am to 4pm until Friday, January 17, for footway reconstruction
• Brownshill Green Road – (Radford Road to Scotts Lane) – road closure from 7.30am to 4pm until Friday, January 17, for pavement reconstruction.
• Harper Road (opposite number 32 to number 56) – road closure from 7.30am to 4pm until Friday, February 7 for S278 footway and kerbing works.
• The Barley Lea – road closure from 7:30am to 4pm until Friday, February 7 for footway reconstruction.
• Stivichall and Cheylesmore Bypass – road closure from 8pm to 6am until Wednesday, January 22 for carriageway resurfacing.
• Whitley Interchange – road closure from 8pm to 6am until Wednesday, January 22 for carriageway resurfacing on bypass.
• Kenilworth Road – 24-hour two way lights from 7,30am to 4pm until Friday, January 17 for installation of pedestrian crossing.
• London Road North (from Asda Island to Abbey Road) – lane and footway closures from 7.30am to 4pm until October 17, 2025 for cycleway installation works.
• Swan Lane – road closure from 6pm to 6am until Friday, January 17 for patching works.
• Foleshill Road – road closure from 8am to 4pm until Sunday, January 19 for patching works.
• Station Avenue (from no.10 to junction with Tile Hill Lane) – road closure from 9.30am to 3.30pm until Wednesday, January 22, for patching works.
• Bennetts Road – 24-hour three-way lights until Friday, February 14 for patching works.
