A man has been killed in a Staffordshire collision this morning. Three ambulances were among the resources scrambled to the scene of a two-car smash in Drayton Bassett.
But West Midlands Ambulance Service has said that sadly nothing could be done to save the patient. Emergency services were called to the junction of Sutton Road and Drayton Lane just before 6.50am this morning.
The road remains shut this lunchtime as a police investigation is underway. Three ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and ca ritical care paramedic were among those sent to the scene.
A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: “On arrival, crews found a man in a critical condition receiving CPR. Ambulance staff immediately took over to administer advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene. The driver of the second car, a man, was treated by medics for injuries not believed to be serious before he was conveyed to Good Hope Hospital.”
