West Midlands Police have issued a major update more than 24 hours after launching a murder probe in Dudley. A murder investigation was launched after a man in his 40s was found dead at a property in Dudley just before 2.30am on January 11.
The victim was found with injuries on Swancote Road in Dudley, but nothing could be done to save him. West Midlands Police arrested a 36-year-old man in Wednesbury a few hours later on suspicion of murder.
As their investigation gathers pace, police issued an update just after 5pm on Sunday to confirm that they have been given more time to question the man in custody. The force added that a scene will remain in place into Sunday night.

They have also urged anyone that might have information that could help detectives, including doorbell or dashcam footage, to get in touch. A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We’ve been granted more time to question a man on suspicion of murder after another man was found dead at an address in Dudley yesterday (11 January).
“We were called to Swancote Road by ambulance service colleagues at just before 2.30am. A man in his 40s was found with injuries and sadly nothing could be done to save him.
“We are supporting his family as we continue to investigate. We quickly detained a 36-year-old man in Wednesbury a few hours later on suspicion of murder.
“We have this afternoon (Sun) been granted a 36-hour magistrates court extension and now have until the early hours of Tuesday morning to question him. A scene remains in place while we carry out enquiries to establish exactly what happened.
“We’re carrying out door-to-door enquiries but we’re keen to speak to anybody who may have information to assist our investigation. We’re interested in anyone who may have dashcam or doorbell footage.
