Man, 71, charged in connection with ‘indecent act’ in Scots park

A 71-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an “indecent” incident at Dean Castle Country Park.

Police responded to an incident after a report was made shortly before 1pm of a man “performing an indecent act” in the Kilmarnock park on Friday, January 3.

A 71-year-old man was subsequently arrested and charged in connection with the incident and was expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today (Monday, January 6).

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At 1pm on Friday, 3 January, 2025, officers attended Dean Castle Country Park, Kilmarnock, following a report of a man performing an indecent act.

“A 71-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday, 6 January, 2025. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
