A police dog chased a suspected burglar through the snow before an officer made a discovery. Merseyside Police was called just before 3.30am today, Monday, January 6, to reports of two men breaking into vehicles in the area of Sheppard Avenue in Roby.
Officers attended and police dog Ike and a handler chased a man through the snow before locating a bank card under a plank of wood. The card was later confirmed as having been stolen from a motor vehicle.
The police dog then continued tracking to the rear gardens of Sandbrook Road before locating a male in the garden of a house. A 34-year-old man from the Kensington area was arrested on suspicion of two counts of theft from a motor vehicle and vehicle interference. He is currently in custody.
