Police are urgently searching for a man who hit a Tube worker numerous times and then pushing them onto the ground after being challenged about going through the ticket barrier without a ticket. The incident took place on December 13, 2024 at around 4.30pm at Edgeware Road’s Bakerloo line station.
British Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the assault. Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact them quoting reference 482 of 13 December..
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “Officers investigating the assault of a member of railway staff at Edgware Road Bakerloo line station are today releasing this image in connection.
“Just after 4.30pm on 13 December, a member of staff challenged a man walking through the ticket barrier for failing to use a ticket. The man responded by hitting the member of staff several times and pushing him onto the floor.
“Officers believe the man in the image may have information which could help with their investigation. Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 482 of 13 December.
“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
