A man has appeared in court over charges relating to a crash in Wolverhampton. Layton Clenton was arrested after a woman was seriously injured in a collision in Stafford Road on September 30 last year.
The 18-year-old has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking and using a vehicle without insurance. He was also charged with failing to stop and driving while disqualified.
Clenton, from Wolverhampton, appeared at Walsall Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, January 4. He was scheduled to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court next month.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “A man has been charged in relation to a serious collision in Wolverhampton last September. Layton Clenton, aged 18 from Wolverhampton, has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, using a vehicle without insurance, failing to stop and driving whilst disqualified.
“This comes after a woman was seriously injured after a collision on Stafford Road, Wolverhampton on 30 September. Clenton appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court on Saturday and is next scheduled to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court next month.”
