A man has been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash on the A14 in Cambridgeshire on Thursday morning (January 16). Emergency services were called to reports of a crash involving a car, lorry, and a van near Quy.
Cambridgeshire Police confirmed that the driver and passenger of the van, as well as the driver of the lorry, suffered minor injuries. The road was fully closed from junction 35 at Quy, with miles of stationary traffic reported.
A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 5.31am with reports of a collision on the A14 near junction 35. We sent three ambulances, East Anglian Air Ambulance and an ambulance officer vehicle. One man was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by land ambulance for further care.”
A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson added: “We were called at 5.14am this morning (Thursday) with reports of a collision on the A14 eastbound at Stow Cum Quy involving a car, lorry and van. Location is just before the Rowley Mile services. The road was fully closed from junction 35, with three-to-four miles of stationary traffic, however lane two was re-opened just before 8am.”
The road fully reopened at around 9am.
