A man was left needing trauma care after being stabbed in a street in Coventry. West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) confirmed to CoventryLive that it received several 999 calls to report the stabbing in Stoney Stanton Road yesterday afternoon (January 6).
A large number of people were in the street when medics arrived. A WMAS spokesperson confirmed that they provided emergency care to a man who had not been identified.
Such was the extent of his injury that he was taken on ‘blue lights’ to hospital for further ‘trauma care’. Police were also called to the scene.

CoventryLive has contacted West Midlands Police for further information about the stabbing. In the meantime, the full WMAS reads: “We received several 999 calls to reports of a stabbing on Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry at 4.02pm yesterday afternoon (Monday 6 January).
“An ambulance and paramedic officer responded to the scene and provided emergency care to a man in a serious condition. The man was conveyed to hospital on blue lights for further trauma care.”
