Detectives leading the investigation into the rioting which shook Middlesbrough last summer are hoping to speak to this man.
The image has been released in an appeal from Cleveland Police who are hoping to trace the man. It was taken from CCTV footage captured on Sunday, August. 4.
The force’s investigation into violent disorder which broke out on the town’s streets – codenamed Operation Acorn – is led by dedicated detectives in the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team. They are appealing to the public for help in identifying the man as part of their investigations.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “If you recognise him, please get in touch either by calling 101 or quoting reference number 148284 or visiting a website set up for the investigation. Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.” Quote the number on the image when providing information.
Hundreds attended so-called protests in the town, as well as Hartlepool and Darlington. The disorder saw missiles hurled at police, cars torched, windows and buildings smashed and cars damaged.
