Midlothian delivery driver makes gutting discovery after opening curtains

A young Midlothian delivery driver was left gutted after heartless thieves allegedly made off with his moped.

Paul Reid, 22, from Bonnyrigg, woke up on Thursday January 9 to discover his Red Honda Vision vehicle with a Domino’s Pizza delivery box had disappeared.

Taken from Polton Terrace, Paul described being heavily reliant on his moped in order to be able to work and he said he does not have the funds to buy a new one.

This has left him feeling ‘very angry’ and ‘distrusting.’

“It was stolen last night between 1am and 8am,” he said. “I woke up around 8.10am and checked out the window to see the moped was completely gone.

“The only thing left was a sheet for the bike. It had a disc lock on it and had been fine outside of my home for over a year.

“I am a delivery driver for Dominos, so now my moped has been stolen, I am going to have to take public transport to and from work, costing a lot more money in the long run.

“I also have to share mopeds with other drivers now. So I won’t get as many hours due to other workers needing vehicles too.
