A mobility scooter was set on fire in a Cambridgeshire town on Monday (January 13). The incident was reported to have taken place at around 7.25pm.
Firefighters were called to Gaul Road, March to reports of a blaze in the open. The vehicle was found well alight, with the crew on scene extinguishing the fire.
It is believed that the fire was started deliberately. Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service have advised anyone with information on the incident to get in touch with police.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “At 7.25pm on Monday (13) a crew from March was called to a fire in the open on Gaul Road in March.
“Firefighters arrived to find a mobility scooter well alight. The crew extinguished the fire using a hose reel and returned to their station by 8.10pm.
“The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate. Anyone with information should contact police by visiting www.cambs.police.uk to submit an online report or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
