Prince Andrew has started 2025 as he ended 2024 – with another blow to his prestige. The Duke of York is still reeling from becoming engulfed in a Chinese spy scandal, something that cost him his place at the royal Christmas celebrations last month.
And now, he has been forced to close his private investment firm Urramoor Limited. It comes despite a mystery donation designed to keep the failing business afloat.
Documents filed with Companies House on January 3 confirm that Urramoor has applied to be struck off and dissolved. It comes just over a year after the company was bailed out when it secured £210,000 in funding through non-redeemable shares from a mysterious donor.
Before the cash boost in December 2023, the company was £208,000 in the red. Andrew was said to have “significant control” over Urramoor, which was incorporated in 2013 with Andrew listed as HRH Andrew Inverness. It was set up shortly after he was stripped of his trade envoy role by the UK Government due to his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, reports the Daily Mail.

The application to be struck off is signed by director Arthur John Lancaster, who runs the Duke’s Pitch@Palace initiative. The company has never posted a profit since being incorporated.
It comes as Brits call on Andrew to reveal the source of his funding that allowed him to remain at Royal Lodge. The Duke faced having to give up his home after King Charles removed his security detail.

But Andrew has managed to finance his own team. Polling on Sunday suggested two-thirds of Brits want him to reveal exactly how he managed to secure the money to hire his own detail.
Andrew has struggled for income since being stripped of his royal titles five years ago due to his links with sex offender Epstein. He signed a 75-year lease on Royal Lodge in 2003 and currently stays there with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
