A motorcyclist has been arrested for taking a bike without consent and carrying a knife while riding without a licence. The rider also failed a test for cannabis after being intercepted by police officers near Leverington Road, Wisbech, on Sunday night (January 5).
A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers saw the motorbike on Sandyland before it made off towards the Rugby Club field and rode along the footpath. The rider was not wearing a helmet.
“Fenland CCTV was tasked to view the CCTV in the area. Officers intercepted the motorbike on the footpath that comes out on Leverington Road, next to Peckover School.
“The rider was arrested for a number of offences, these being: taking [the motorbike] without the owner’s consent; having a pointed/bladed article in a public place (knife); and riding with no insurance and no licence. The rider also failed the DrugWipe for cannabis.
“The rider was taken to the Police Investigation Centre at Kings Lynn. Enquiries continue into this matter.”
