Two Leicestershire villages face a series of traffic closures next week. A number of roads in both Sapcote and Stoney Stanton, in Blaby district, will be off-limits to drivers while work takes place in the area.
These include main routes such as Leicester Road, in Sapcote, and Sapcote Road, in Stoney Stanton. A full list of the affected roads can be found below. The restrictions are for “public safety”, Leicestershire County Council has said.
The highways authority is carry out pre-surface dressing patching in the villages. Rolling road closures are planned for Tuesday, January 7, as a result.

There is also to be restrictions on waiting and loading on the roads. The work is set to take place between 9am and 3pm with diversions signposted, the council said.
