A driver in Co Mayo weaved to and fro and onto the wrong side of road, including one instance where they narrowly avoided a lorry.
The shocking two-minute clip shows the red car driving along the N17 in Co Mayo on Saturday 4 January 2025 between Knock and Tubbercurry. The video opens with the car careening out across the white lines at a junction and onto the wrong side of the road.
A yellow lorry can be seen flashing its lights as it approaches, on its correct side of traffic, in the opposite direction. The red car swerves back into its correct lane.
The red car can be seen driving on the correct side of the road for around one minute before it suddenly lurches to the right, almost crossing the white line into oncoming traffic.
The red car can be seen pulling to the left to away from the oncoming traffic and its tyres seem to almost touch the verge before the car pulls right again before coming to a complete stop on the road. The car then drives on before the clip ends. Galway Beo understands the driver of the red car seen in the video was arrested some time after the clip was captured.
