A new Manjaros restaurant is “coming soon”.
Signs have gone up at a unit on Ormesby Bank to the delight of foodies who “can’t wait” for opening. The chain – which already has restaurants in Middlesbrough, Ingleby Barwick and Darlington – offers a blend of African and Caribbean flavours and prides itself on creating a “sensational zest of spices” in their dishes.
The restaurant, which has made a name for itself on Teesside for its famous Manjaros sauce and chicken dishes, has teased the new restaurant on social media. In a post on Facebook, staff said “good things are coming” alongside a picture of the new unit.
The post has been met with excitement from foodies and more than 200 comments. One social media user said: “I can’t deal. This is opening like two minutes from mine. Another said: “Can’t wait when’s opening date?”
Manjaros is coming soon to Ormesby
Pictures from the unit show the brand’s famous logo alongside pictures of dishes. The signage reads “coming soon”. There are barriers and cones outside of the unit with work underway.
The restaurant serves a large menu of dishes including parmos, burgers, pizza, supreme grilled chicken, rasta pasta, lamb chops and more. Manjaros has yet to confirm an opening date.
The site is next to Sun Centre and Ormesby Library which used to be a baby clinic and was sold by the Primary Care Trust in the late 1990s. Pictures from the site show a number of other empty units.
