New video shows Oldbury scene where boy of 14 stabbed as police launch ‘attempted murder’ probe

This is the scene where a schoolboy was stabbed in Oldbury during a major overnight incident. The 14-year-old victim suffered a serious knife wound in Brunel Road in the early hours of Saturday, January 4.

Video taken from a flat above captured the police cordon stretched across the street with several officers on scene. Several forensic tents could be seen erected in the road and on the grass verge beside it.

Uniformed police and marked cars were also on scene as the force continued their enquiries in the late morning. A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

He remains in police custody while the victim is in a serious condition in hospital. Police have urged any witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We are investigating after a teenage boy was stabbed in Oldbury. We were called to Brunel Road in the early hours of this morning (4 January) after a 14-year-old boy was found with a serious knife wound.

“He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition. A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody while our enquiries continue.

“We are remaining at the scene this morning to carry out further enquiries and anyone with information about what happened can contact us via 101 or Live Chat quoting crime number 20/103027/25.”
