Derbyshire police have issued a statement after a village wildlife garden was trashed during a spout of anti-social behaviour in the Peak District. A number of items were thrown into the pond and a sundial was tipped over at the Bankside Wildlife Garden in Youlgrave, near Bakewell, with police saying the incident took place between New Year’s Day and Monday (January 13).
The force is now asking anyone with information about the vandalism to come forward. A spokesperson for the police’s Bakewell, Hathersage and White Peak Villages Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Sadly, the Safer Neighbourhood Team have been made aware of some anti-social Behaviour at the Bankside Wildlife Garden in Youlgrave.

“It’s believed sometime between New Year’s and Monday, January 13, unknown persons have thrown items into the pond, tipped over the sundial and a made general mess of the garden area, plus its facilities.
