Piccadilly line disruption as person taken to hospital after casualty on tracks at Arsenal station

A person has been taken to hospital following a casualty on the tracks of the Piccadilly line. Emergency services were called to Arsenal station at around 6.30 am this morning (Wednesday, January 15).

Paramedics rushed to the scene and took the person involved to hospital where their injuries were assessed as life-changing. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Arsenal underground station at around 6.30am this morning (15 January) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, and a person was taken to hospital with injuries that are considered to be life-changing. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”

A spokesperson for TfL said: “The suspension on the Piccadilly line between King’s Cross and Arnos Grove has now lifted and the line is running with severe delays.”

There is no service on the Piccadilly Line between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge due to a shortage of trains while damage caused by leaf fall is being fixed. Passengers are asked to use the Metropolitan line to complete their journey. This is not related to the incident at Arsenal station this morning.
