Police uncovered a drugs haul after a chase ended with a crash on a North Staffordshire roundabout. Officers say a Mercedes had failed to stop for cops – before the collision in Clayton.
Cops and paramedics had been spotted on the roundabout of Clayton Road and Stafford Avenue in the early hours of Saturday.
In a post on X the armed response officers, who also uploaded images of a number of packets of cannabis, wrote: “This vehicle was the second of the night to fail to stop for the armed response vehicle sergeants in the north of the county. One male has been arrested for driving offences and possession with intent to supply cannabis.”
Cannabis was seized
West Midlands Ambulance Service was sent to the scene just before 12.10am on Saturday (January 11).
A spokeswoman said: “We were called by the police to a road traffic collision at the junction of Stafford Avenue and Clayton Road. One ambulance attended and the crew assessed the driver of one car, a man. He declined hospital treatment and was discharged at the scene.”
