Police are appealing for information after a man died in a car crash this morning (Wednesday, January 8). The 20-year-old was driving a silver Ford Fiesta when it collided with a white BMW coupe on A453 Sutton Road in Mile Oak.
Medics raced to the scene at around 6.40am but the man was pronounced dead. The driver of the BMW – a 27-year-old man – suffered non-serious injuries in the crash and taken to Good Hope Hospital.
The A453 has remained closed since the incident as investigators work at the scene. And now a spokesperson for Staffordshire Police has appealed to anyone with information to get in touch as soon as possible.

They said: “We are appealing for information after a man sadly died following a collision in Tamworth. We were called at 6.40am today (Wednesday 8 January) to reports of a collision involving a silver Ford Fiesta and a white BMW coupe on Sutton Road in Mile Oak.
“Sadly, the driver of the Ford, a 20-year-old man, was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. The driver of the BMW, a 27-year-old man, was taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution.
“Highways have been informed and the A453 Sutton Road is due to be closed for a number of hours at the junctions of Slade Road, Bassets Pole and Drayton Lane.”
They added: “Anyone who saw what happened or recalls seeing either of the vehicles beforehand or may have relevant dashcam footage should contact us on 101 quoting incident number 73 of 8 January. To report anonymously, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “On arrival, crews found a man in a critical condition receiving CPR. Ambulance staff immediately took over to administer advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene.
“The driver of the second car, a man, was treated by medics for injuries not believed to be serious before he was conveyed to Good Hope Hospital.”
